BFA Biological Farming Roadshows 2011

2011 BFA Roadshows a Great Success

The BFA Roadshows for 2011 were a wonderful success with audiences across Australia gripped by the fast paced narrative from world renowned biological consultant Gary Zimmer.

The team at BFA and ACO would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Zimmer for his inspiring presentations and generosity of spirit and time. We hope to have the opportunity to work together again in the not-too-distant future.

Joel Williams, a member of the BFA team, who was co-speaker at the roadshows is also to be congratulated. The feedback surveys reflect that both Gary’s and Joel’s talks were considered to be highly valuable.

Thank you to all of our roadshow sponsors, supporters and hosting locations and venues. Those staff members from BFA and ACO lucky enough to assist with, and be part of, the roadshows enjoyed wonderful hospitality and support from a wide range of individuals, families and businesses.

What are the BFA Roadshows?

The BFA Roadshows – held nationwide each year – are practical events which aim to foster knowledge, information sharing and networking amongst farmers who are interested in lowering their inputs, and gaining an understanding of how to manage an environmentally and financially sustainable farming business. The roadshows provide attendees with the latest information on organic industry developments and opportunities.

The roadshows interest those in the fields of sustainable, biological, organic and biodynamic agriculture and feature a host of informative guest speakers including successful A-Grade organic operators, soil specialists and scientists, wholesalers, marketers, researchers and other experts in their fields.

Roadshow guests in 2010 included such notables as soil scientist and consultant Dr. Maarten Stapper, rural impacts researcher Dr. Liz Hanna, standards and certification advisor Dr Andrew Monk and compost tea specialist Mr Paul Taylor.

Products and trade displays relevant to the organic industry are also on show.

As organic produce becomes more firmly established in the Australian lifestyle, the BFA is committed to taking the message out to regional communities across Australia via the BFA Roadshows – look out for a roadshow in your region!

BFA Roadshow sponsorship provides a unique opportunity for organic agricultural businesses to target their services and products direct to those with a genuine interest and involvement in organic and sustainable production.

With sponsorship packages including everything from trade displays to presentations, the roadshows provide an un-beatable avenue for operators to get their message to the heart of industry.

BFA Networking Dinners

BFA Networking Dinners are often held in conjunction with Roadshows and further offer an excellent chance for all organic operators (including value-adders, food, clothing and cosmetics manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, marketers and others as well as primary producers) to network, liaise and discuss.
