Coming soon... the launch of the Australian Organic Market Report 2010

The upcoming release of the second Australian Organic Market Report (AOMR) is set to showcase the rapid growth and progression of the organic industry.

This industry and media recognised benchmark publication for the organic industry, independently researched by University of New England (UNE) in Armidale NSW, will provide much needed up-to-date data, assisting industry development and direction for the coming two years.

The 2008 report highlighted an 80 per cent increase in farm-gate sales since last reported in 2004. Earlier this year international research house IBISWorld predicted growth of the organic sector to exceed all others with exception of the sugar industry. It is therefore with much anticipation that investors, industry members, government and other stakeholder groups await the results of this 2010 industry report.

Commissioned by the BFA with funding from Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL), and sponsoring support from State Governments and organic businesses, the 2010 AMOR is based on industry-wide survey data and is confirmed as a biennial project.

AOMR 2010 will be a key tool in the decision making process for organic producers and marketers as well as providing reference points for government, media and interested parties.

The report will provide details on farm gate value by sector; retail, import and export values; the reported unit price range for each sector; numbers of organic operations and operation growth; areas of organic production in Australia; and demographic information for organic stakeholders and consumers.

The 2010 AOMR will be launched at the Organic Expo, Darling Harbour on August 20, 2010 and be available for purchase from this website after that date.
